NOTE:
Officially a single porter is required to carry a maximum of 25 kilograms (about 55 pounds); 20 kg (44 pounds) consisting of the tourist's baggage while the other 5 kg (11 pounds) being the porter's own luggage. This load is supposed to go lower after each stop over, because much of the contents are food which gets consumed at particular spots during the hiking expedition. The Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources and TATO reportedly agreed that daily allowances for each porter should be 11,700/= Tanzania shillings (about $10 U.S.D) for the Mount Kilimanjaro route’s and Mount Meru. These figures are to be multiplied by six climbing days at the end of which a porter is expected to pocket USD 60$ at the End. The cook 90$ and Mountain Guide 120$ per each Guide. [T.Shs Rate is between 1170/= - 1,190/=] for each 1 USD.

Walking safaris may be available instead of game drives, for clients staying 2 or more nights; subject to permission from park authorities. (These may be at supplementary cost if fees are raised)
